About those RB ballot measures….
It’s important to vote for many reasons, but did you know that there will be two questions on the ballot as well? Please show the Councils where your interests lie:
Don’t forget to vote Saturday at your Community Center, Saturday from 9 - 5. Website www.RBernardo.com has all the news you need to vote. Just click on "RB Elections 2000" and see who’s running for what organization, what the various organizations do, how often they meet, and other important information. Quotes from two candidates: "Thanks for www.rbernardo.com/ This is an absolutely outstanding website! We are fortunate to have this resource. Thanks for putting this together" - Brian Maienschein. "I had the opportunity to look over www.rbernardo.com and found that the information the site provided was very informative as to what is happening in and around Rancho Bernardo. I have bookmarked this site and will use it often as a resource for my campaign." - Karen McElliott. Quote from the RB Journal: "Nice site! You’ve done an exceptionally good job! Thanks for the link to the News Journal. We will link to you as part of our updated website, due out early this year." - Steve Dreyer +++++ Remember to call RB Senior Services for the times and dates of their free income tax assistance throughout March. Also, a reminder the next test for DMV license renewals is on March 23, and that March 16 is the deadline for checks and forms to be turned in to the Senior Services office. A free hearing test will be given by Audiologist Judy Horning on March 16 from 11 a.m. to noon. Call for an appointment. 487-2640. +++++ Marie Graver, assistant administrator of RSVP announces that a retirement plaque was given to John Stickney, who graduated in August 1993. Graver also announced that new name badges with 7 stars, signifying 7 years of volunteering, were given to Roy Baker, Roy Christensen, Stan Gingold and Assistant Administrator Richard Van Overmeiren. +++++ The RB Continuing Education Center announces that Al Gaynor, a former Executive Assistant U.S. Attorney in a Special Prosecutions Unit (created by Robert Kennedy’s drive against organized criminal activities and racketeering,) will speak on Tuesday March 28 from 7 to 9 p.m. This very informative and interesting class will deal with some of the popular myths of the law, the constitutional basis of law, some of his major trials, and how a federal criminal case is prepared and litigated. Call the CEC for reservations. 487-0464. +++++ And, yes, Frankie Laine is definitely coming June 29 at 7 p.m. The papers have been signed! (We live under a "Lucky Old Sun.")
