Webb Park Lake and other updates
A number of questions from the Do-it-Yourself seminar concern Rancho Bernardo projects; in particular, news about Webb Park. To date, several engineers hired by the Town Centre property manager are now looking at Webb Lake to advise him and the Save the Lake committee as to what they believe should be done, where the leakage is and how to fix it. Then the work will go out for bids. The San Diego Foundation’s Save the Lake Fund now has approximately $100,000 from donations. For more information call committee chair, David Olivet at 485-6121. He says that all donations are gratefully accepted. Send checks to: Save the Lake Fund, 11956 Bernardo Plaza Drive, PMB 210, San Diego CA 92128. At the moment, there is a chain link fence around the lake. The ever-creative Ruth Beers has an idea to decorate this fence for the 4th of July with red, white and blue streamers. You go, girl. Spirit of the Fourth: A mistake occurred at the P.O. recently when approximately 100 Freedom Club donations of $100 each were returned to senders. To help with this major delay, please send your donations as soon as possible to: Spirit of the Fourth, P.O. Box 270736, San Diego CA 92198. Your Freedom Club membership gives you and your family V.I.P. treatment at a special reception, reserved seats (in the shade!) at the parade, reserved parking and free admittance for reserved family seats at the "musical’ fireworks. Questions? Call Ruth Beers at 451-2179.RB Alive! Neighborhood Watch and Emergency Preparedness will be at the very first booth (in front of Bank of America). Come visit - take home a flyer for the Frankie Laine Benefit performance on June 29 and hear some sensational Frankie Laine music. Don’t let anyone sell you new pots and pans because ‘ your old ones will cause cancer.’ It just ain’t true. Sounds silly, but a lot of folks have fallen for it.News from Senior Services: Free legal advice on Monday, May 22 from 1-3 pm.
