Don’t miss RB Alive! on Sunday, June 4

RB Alive! is an event you should not miss.

Neighborhood Watch and Emergency Preparedness volunteers will be there to promote the Frankie Laine benefit performance and to play Frankie’s songs for you. Frankie will perform one night only - June 29 at 7 p.m. at the Poway Center for the Performing Arts,15498 Espola Road. Call the Box Office early (858-748-0505) for the best reserved seating. Tickets are $30 and $35. Net proceeds will go to the Neighborhood Watch and Emergency Preparedness programs. Have a great evening while furthering Rancho Bernardo’s safety and security.

The RSVP (Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol) will be there with its fingerprinting detail, (children’s fingerprinting from 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.); Officer Paul Lennon will be there (and his police car with the lights and sirens to wow the kids.) Who would miss it? Hundreds of booths, free health screenings, health displays, food fairs, arts and crafts, entertainment, children’s fun including a dog contest,’ Strut your Mutt’ judged by Doctor Dog, and Kiddieland. The new Honorary Mayor will be introduced (will it be Bernard Mougel or Vivi-Anne Riordan?) A booth will be manned by volunteers to talk to you about the Community Council, the Planning Board, and the Recreation Council. They will give you the information you need to elect your next local representatives.

RB Alive! is on Sunday, June 4th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Bernardo Center drive will be closed between Bernardo Plaza Drive and Lomica Drive. This section will be filled with booths. We respect our merchants, and we’re pleased they have chosen Rancho Bernardo. And a little consideration for them is in order. For example, we have to give them the room (and parking) in order for them to do their ‘business as usual.’ RSVP will be helping with the handicapped parking in the Bank of America parking lot.

The Retired Senior Volunteer Patrol (RSVP) announces new ‘stars’ recipients. Each star represents a year of service to the program after graduation from their RSVP Academy. The members add the stars to their nametags. A new nametag with four stars was presented to Jerry L. Goldstein; a 3-star nametag was given to Bill Taylor; new nametags with one star went to members Joe Brittain, B.J. Curtiss and Clint Henderson. A new recruit coming aboard will be Jerry Morrissey - graduating from the RSVP Academy in early June. Welcome.
