Important RB events happening in November
Police Chief to speak: On Thursday evening, November 2 at 6 p.m. San Diego Police Chief David Bejarano will be at the Rancho Penasquitos Library to meet with residents from the Northeastern Division (which includes Rancho Bernardo). Come to hear his views and ask questions.Captain Cox and Lieutenants Kern and Christman will be there for you to meet. Directions: Exit from Ted Williams Parkway (West) at Rancho Penasquitos Blvd (1st exit). Turn left at light on Paseo Montelban. Then left at next light (Salmon River Road). Library is at 13330, next to the Police substation. On Saturday, November 4 (8 a.m. to noon) the Rancho Bernardo Emergency Preparedness Program (EPP) organization will have an all-RB Exercise. This will include RB Emergency Radio Services (RBERS) and RB EPP. New this year will be coordination with several stations of the SD Fire Department and mutual aid from Poway and Rancho Santa Fe.This will be primarily a communications exercise and will concentrate on the headquarters at the RB Library plus community centers at Bernardo Heights, Seven Oaks, Oaks North and Swim and Tennis. However, RBERS will also set up volunteers at High Country West, Westwood and Eastview. Featured will be simulated emergencies such as results from an earthquakes (power outages, travel restrictions, injuries, etc.) fires (evacuations, injuries, etc) and any other types of emergencies. There will be a wrap-up session at Oaks North Community Center between 11 and noon. If you have any questions call 538-8148 and leave a message for Jim Harmon. If you would like to join or observe, come to one of the community centers or the library on the morning of Saturday November 4. A Travel Tea with CEC: A first! On Tuesday, November 14 at 1:00 p.m., Jo Casterline, VP, Special Events and Bee St. Clair, VP, Travel/Study, invite you to tea at the Remington Club, 16925 Hierba Drive in RB. Featured will be a slide program on the planned cruise to Greece, discussion of new trips, and any future trips that people may want. This is your chance to meet members and associates of CEC, and to ask questions and give suggestions. Please reserve on or before November 10 by calling 487-0464.Important tips for Halloween from SDPD: Only go (with a buddy or parent) to houses of people you know with a front porch light on, wear reflective clothing or carry a flashlight, and don’t ever eat candy that has been opened or unwrapped.Courtesy RB NEWSJournal |
