New e-newsletter has launched - sign up!
Several hundred people in RB received a newsletter by email last week. It was specifically for people who are interested in RB's many activities, those who go to Neighborhood Watch seminars, care about emergency preparedness and want to learn how better to protect themselves from disasters, scams, frauds and other criminal activity.

If you would like to be on this eNEWSLETTER list, send your name and email address to: news@rbernardo.com/ You can always remove it later if you want. We hope you don't.

Neighborhood Watch and Emergency Preparedness volunteers are now selling Emergency mini-kits for your home, family members and for your vehicles. These kits contain enough food and water and a blanket for one person for 3 days. And they last for five years. Only $7.00 each, they are great for gifts!

In our office, you can sign up for "Vial of Life" and many other free benefits from Project Concern, including "Are you o.k.?" telephone calls.

eNEWSLETTER - it's a new concept for us. No more copying, folding, labeling, stuffing. Just think of the postage and paper savings. However, one thing is necessary - we need your name and email address. This particular mailing is being sent to all the email addresses that we have in our database. A very small number of people. Therefore, we hope you will print and make copies of this (come to our office to copy) to give to your neighbors and friends who don't have email. Please forward to us the email addresses of those who do have them. Before you know it, our database will be up to date. And you'll receive an eNEWSLETTER every time there is news to deliver!

We have some new information in our office - 2nd floor Library: fliers on mail fraud, pet safety during an earthquake, how to make your home safe, Project Care's "Vial of Life", Block Captain's Guide, Beat the Quake, 9-1-1 and other important numbers, and many more. We need many more InfoSheets from residents - which help them in times of emergency. Pick some up for yourself and others. To make sure we are there, call 538-8148. We are keeping very erratic hours this summer. (Vacation time).

Check out the latest RB News, Community Watch column, organizations and clubs, senior activities, health, education, sports, entertainment, local attractions , Community Concerts new schedule, and much, much more. For Webtv.net users: you will be able to access all parts of the website in about a month. We are working on it now.

COCO's June, 2001 awards for outstanding volunteers in Neighborhood Watch and Emergency Preparedness go to Margaret Cauthen and Marie Graver. We appreciate their generous help.
