Continuing Education Center plans 'Festival of
Knowledge'
CEC's impressive annual community luncheon, this year named Festival of Knowledge 2001, takes place at the RB Inn on Friday, September 7. It includes a reception with a no-host bar, luncheon and excellent speakers. Don Gragg, well-known local resident and current president of the World Affairs Council of San Diego will moderate. Panelists include Bob Kittle, Union-Tribune editorial page editor, Sandy Lakoff, founding chair of the UCSD Political Science Department and Steve Loughrin-Sacco, co-director of SDSU's federally funded International Education and Research Center. The reception starts at 11 a.m. and the affair concludes at approximately 2:15 p.m. Parking is free. The $30 entrance fee includes all of the above. The RB Press Club will host two very well known and entertaining speakers: on Friday, September 14, Geni Cavitt newscaster and reporter, KGTV-10 News; on Friday, October 12, Bob Hansen, Channel 8, "Consumer Bob." Press Club meetings are open to all and start at 10:30 at the San Diego National Bank. Help fill their treasure chest by donating items from your closets, gently used or new items, that you cannot use. They may become someone else's treasures. You can drop off donations now, Monday thru Friday from 9 a. to 12 noon.
