Do your part for RB – Vote in Saturday’s
elections
Residents in Rancho Bernardo need to get to the voting polls Saturday, March 2 to vote for the candidates they want representing them on the Rancho Bernardo Community Council, Community Planning Board and Recreation Council. Elections take place on Saturday, March 2 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Community Centers and the Library. Library voting is something new the Councils are starting this year. "It's disappointing not more people are running," said Rebecca Cole, president of the Community Council, "but it is important we support those who are willing to volunteer to improve our community. This means get out and vote!" Among the three groups, 19 candidates have some real competition in District A, Westwood and Casa, where there are more candidates running than available positions. FOR WESTWOOD RESIDENTS: Absentee ballots for Community Elections were enclosed in the Westwood Newsletter this year. Due to a minor glitch, a return envelope did not accompany it. Please return the ballot (by dropping it off or mailing it) to the Westwood Club. Absentee ballots must be received by March 1st. If you do not have an opportunity to do so by the deadline, please stop by the Westwood Club on Saturday, March 2nd to vote in person. Candidates running for office are: RECREATION COUNCIL (All Districts can vote): Nick Anastasopoulos – incumbent, Ron Jaenisch, Marge Peterson, Lora Starry, Ron Wilson – (incumbent) COMMUNITY COUNCIL
PLANNING BOARD
* * * * * What if there’s an emergency in your home? A fall in the shower, a broken or sprained ankle? A piece of food caught in the throat? Would you be prepared to handle these things in a cool and efficient manner? If you need a "refresher course," Bob Rose will be on hand SATURDAY MARCH 2 AT 9:30 a.m. in the Library, 2nd floor, to show you how to handle all First Aid emergencies. Neighborhood Watch Seminars, by popular demand, is bringing Bob back for his expertise on "First Aid in the Home." Bob is a certified Red Cross Instructor and a very dynamic and interesting speaker. When he was in RB three years ago, over 50 people signed up for his CPR/First Aid courses after hearing his Seminar. This is something you can’t afford to miss. It’s important to you, your family, your friends and neighbors.
