Hall of Fame nomination forms now available

These forms, published by the Hall of Fame, are now at the RB Library on the 1st and 2nd floor display racks. There are also copies at RB Senior Services, which is open weekdays 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The criteria for eligibility for this distinct honor are for volunteer service with organizations that specifically and primarily benefit Rancho Bernardo as follows:

    • A minimum of six years volunteer community service in a position of leadership in one or more Rancho Bernardo organizations.
    • Nominee shall have demonstrated outstanding leadership in positions that are demanding and not merely perfunctory in a RB organization.
    • The nominee shall be or shall have been chairperson, president or an officer of a RB organization or chairperson of a committee that makes a significant contribution to Rancho Bernardo.
    • The length of time served shall not, in itself, qualify one for nomination.
    • Services shall have been performed in organizations that serve all of the community, or whose actions can have a significant impact on the community; as well as leadership in organizations that foster cultural, educational, civic and governmental (volunteer only) services.
    • Leadership in organizations that foster cultural, educational, youth, civic and governmental (volunteer only) services shall also constitute valid areas of service.
    • Participation in religious and partisan political organizations shall not constitute part of the volunteer service considered by the Hall of Fame.
    • Nominations shall be made on forms provided by the Hall of Fame. The forms shall be submitted by December 31, 2003 to President Ted Gaasch, 17025 Lucera Court, San Diego 92127.

I’m not sure if the following information has been seen before by RB residents except in yearly Hall of Fame programs or on a plaque, which is rarely seen by the residents, as it is moved from commercial office to commercial office every several months. The Hall of Fame organization needs a central place for this plaque, rather then being mobile.

Please take time to read these names. They are people who have done much to help Rancho Bernardo in a number of different volunteer venues. You will know many of them. By year:
