The Board of Advisors and outstanding volunteers from other years were also on hand.

Congratulations and the community’s thanks go to:

GEORGE COOKE. George is being recognized this year for his steady support of the NHW program during his 4 year tenure as the High Country West association president and as a Block Captain.

JOE DIRKS. He is the transportation coordinator in EPP at 7 Oaks, helping other districts as well. He is treasurer of the RB Community Council, sits on the Public Safety Committee and the RB Planning Board.

EVELYN DOBSON.  She is very active as assistant Area Coordinator in High Country West, organizing the block captains and establishing procedures for email contact and leading yearly training classes and recruitment of 27 new captains.

TIM DODGE   Just last April Tim became the District Coordinator position for Westwood.  In a short time he had identified all of the Areas and Blocks and their vacancies, recruited 2 new Area Coordinators and 3 Block captains.  He has now reinstated quarterly NHW meetings and developed an effective means for tracking crime statistics and trends.

ANNA MARZOUK.    When Anna moved to Bernardo Heights, a community of 29 separate communities, she immediately volunteered to be the new District Coordinator. She has been very active in NHW and EPP by increasing residents’ awareness of these programs.  This has included personal recruitment efforts, district-wide meetings, sending out Newsletters, and soliciting support and participation from the Association Presidents.

DENNIS ROE.  Denny has volunteered many hours to the Westwood NHW program.  In addition to supporting all of Tim Dodge's efforts, he has made a special effort to help distribute crime statistics and trends to his surrounding blocks and identifying the NHW Street Sign status throughout the whole community.

WALLY THOMPSON     Wally has been a key contributor to RB Emergency Radio Services for a number of years and coordinates the communication center at the Casa which includes quarterly drills; arranges the monthly breakfast/business meetings and internal RBERS communication bulletins.  He has acted as temporary Co-Leader until the new Leader was found.

PAT WHITE   In addition to being the Area Coordinator for Los Rios, and doing an extraordinary job, Pat White has headed up the effort to develop an exciting new program to get high school students involved in Neighborhood Watch and Emergency Preparedness, exploring grants for funding and effective ways to help students help our community, and also earn necessary community service hours for college applications.

FRITZ WOELLER   Fritz Coordinates all CB radio activities for 7 Oaks, including weekly communication checks, testing of base equipment, including antennas and radios and publishing operating guidelines and training new operators.

The party could not have been complete without the help and sponsorship of our local retailers They were very generous with their door prizes, and we want to thank them for their support: Albertson’s, Coco’s, Ogden’s Cleaners, Pot Stickers, Ralph’s Grocery. Sandy’s Nails, Sav-On, Starbucks (in Albertson’s Center), Submarina and Village Mail and More.
